Buying Costs
Down Payment
Down payment is the amount of money needed to initiate the loan a buyer is making to purchase a home. Depending on the kind of loan (VA, FHA or conventionnal)you are applying for, the minimum amount required can be as low as 0% and up to 20%. The higher the down payment, the lower your mortgage monthly payment will be. This down payment will be required at the time of closing.
Closing Costs
Closing costs are the costs associated with closing a real estate transaction. Including the loan initiation fees, the escrow fees, the appraisal fee and the home owner inssurance as well as property taxes that have to be prorated at closing... It usualy accounts for about 2% to 3% of the price of the homeUpfront Costs
The upfront costs are what you will need before the deal is closed. They include:- The earnest money; the money you put down when you present an offer on a home. This dollars amount will be back to you at closing or can be applied towards your closing costs or down payment.
- Home inspection; The home inspector cost, usualy around $400.
